Ringtones?

I have a new Sony Walkman Sony580i.

I'm pretty skilled with phones, computer, technology but I'm stumped.

I've uploaded free games to my phone, I've uploaded photos to my phone, and even songs to my MP3 that my phone has. The only problem I am having is uploading my own ringtone from my computer to the phone.

I used to have Slvr, and I did that all the time. I would take a song that was on my SD card on my Slvr, move it to my phone and make it a ringtone.

Yeah, not working with this phone.

I do not have internet access on my phone; so text linking me to free ringtones do not work.

I've tried moving the song from my SD card to my phone and applying it as a ringtone and it wont.

My ringtone is an mp3 file and the ringtones allotted to the phone are in midi, mp3, and other formats, so I know it's not the format.

Please help if you know what to do. I'm stumped.

Ringtones?
the 580i only takes songs up to like 300k for use as ringtones
Reply:its the size of the file thats the problem.

use that site to shorten the mp3 file into a ringtone length, its free, and then use that, for at%26amp;t you dont need internet, they can text it to you in a picture message, i do it that way
