I have a Motorola phone, and it has a USB port on the side of it. I downloaded one of the many programs off the internet that can shorten MP3s, and then i just took my shortened MP# and put it on my phone from my computer. If you have a memory chip in there, be sure you are saving the files to the phone and not the chip. This has always worked for me, but I guess it also depends on the cellphone company software that comes with your phone.
