Ringtones?

Does anyone know a website that you can get 100% free ringtones? Do they even exist?

Ringtones?
With ringtones, you have 2 options - make them yourself (free) or download them (usually not free). You can do either at:

MAKE THEM YOURSELF

Take an mp3 file and convert it to whatever format your phone uses for ringtones. Many modern phones can actually use mp3 with no problem. If you need to convert them, use one of these two programs (the first is free, the second is $29 but is specifically for ringtones):

After you have the ringtone file, you need to get it to your phone. You can connect your phone to the computer using a special usb cable, but that's kind of complicated. The other way to do it is to use a website to send the file to your phone. You can do that here:

DOWNLOAD RINGTONES

If you want to download ringtones to your phone, you're probably going to have to pay. However, many ringtone companies offer complimentary ringtones when you sign up. All the sites have pretty much the same selection; ringtone companies are good at keeping up to date. ;)

You can download ringtones from:

DIFFERENT TYPES OF RINGTONES

Some people get confused by the different types of ringtones. It's actually pretty easy:

1. Monophonic - only 1 tone at a time - these were the earliest ringtones

2. Polyphonic - plays up to 40 notes at once - most common

3. Full Music - play actual songs

Reply:That's a good question. I've looked, and I would say that it is nearly impossible. When you do encounter that free ringtone web site, you usually have to give them a credit card (who knows what charges will show up), or you have to download stuff.

At http://www.phonesherpa.com you don't need to download software, and you can try it for free without a credit card. If you decide you want to subscribe, you can get 8 credits for $9.99 or go unlimited for 1 year at $19.99.

You simply upload your music files from your computer, CDs, or mp3s, and pick the part of the song you want as your ringtone. Phone Sherpa takes care of the rest. Oh, of course, you have to click a send button so you get your ringtones. That's it.

It's actually a lot of fun.

Hope this helps,
